Swansea City 2-0 Leicester City: Bony brace sees off Foxes
Bony red hot against Leicester

A Wilfred Bony double was more than enough for Swansea as they breezed past Leicester at the Liberty Stadium.

The first half of this game was one for the footballing purists with Swansea dominating obsession but with no side showing too much urgency in the final third of the pitch. There was only a couple of shots on target in the first half and most of them were from Bony. To start in the 16th minute Leicester did not clear the ball properly and Gylfi Sigurdsson quickly pounced to play the ball inside from the right to Bony who swept it first time straight at Kasper Schmeichel.
10 minutes before half time produced the only quality of the half as Sigurdsson and Bony combined for the opener. The Ivorian striker played a lovely flick round the corner to put Sigurdsson in the clear down the right side of the box and he unselfishly laid it back inside for Bony who first time right footed swept it in at the near post from about 15 yards.
As the second half began it was clear that Leicester wanted to give things more of a go as they started to see more of the ball and be more direct in attack. Then from a set piece they were nearly on level terms as a Ritchie De Laet long throw from the right flicked off the top of Jonjo Shelvey's head and went onto the top of the bar leaving Lukas Fabianski a relieved man in the Swans goal.
However in the 57th minute Swansea more or less wrapped up the points as Bony doubled his tally. Sigurdsson slid a lovely ball in behind down the left side of the box for Jefferson Montero who pulled the ball back for Bony who was left with a six yard tap in with his right foot.
Just a few minutes later and it could have been three for the home side. Shelvey was left with acres of space in the Leicester half and decided to hit one early with his right foot within 30 yards of goal and the ball kept on dipping only for it to cannon off the bar to deny the midfielder a goal of the season contender.
After that the game really edged towards a home win with Leicester's only clear-cut chance coming right at the end of the game. In the 91st minute all three Foxes substitutes combined with Matty James delivering a cross, which Andy King glanced goalwards only to be denied by a fine Fabianski save low to his right to which the ball broke for Estaban Cambiasso who from three yards somehow managed to hit the post and not score.
